Here is a slideshow about Strauss' binary opposites theory and Propp's character theory and how they both apply to my thriller opening...
This is my AS Media Studies blog, please note that what is on my blog may not be posted at the time that it was made as I have changed things so as they fit in an order, thank you :)

Final costumes
Hi everyone, just thought that I should update you all on what we have chosen for our thriller openings characters costumes. Here is what they wore...
1st location ideas
Although these locations may not all be what we use in our final thriller opening, they are a few first ideas which can be progressed if we find anything more convenient or better for our film.
If any of our locations change or more are added, up to date posts will be posted so as you can keep up with our ideas.
Hope you enjoy...
An idea that we have is to use these steps when the girl is walking up and down them before she leaves her house and heads to her Grandmas.
These two pictures are ideas of the location that we might use when the girl is outside when walking to her Grandmas. As you can see, the roads are long which suggest the unkown, which we think will be good to use in our thriller opening.

Here is an idea of the room we might be using for when the girl and her parents are arguing.
Here is an example of the door we may be using for when the girl runs out of after arguing with her parents, also this could be the door that the girl comes back into before she sees the photos including the one of her war hero Grandad.
Here is an idea of what we might use to put the photos on where a pan goes across them, revealing the one of her parents (which she smashes) and the one of her war hero Grandad (which she packs in her bag before heading to her Grandmas).
I belivie that this may be a good place to film for when the girl is packing her bag.
I think that it would be good to film her packing through the mirror and then to pan to her actually packing it not through a reflection. I think that this will have a good effect.
(There is also a place to stand for the camera person so as they are not seen in the background of any of the mirrors, as seen in these photos).

The narrative of our thriler
Hi everyone, todays post is about the story of our film.
As you will later find out, the opening of our film will not reveal much about the story and what will happen in the rest of the movie, it is also left on a 'cliff hanger'.
Here you will learn about the rest of the action packed and thrilling film that would be produced if the film was to be made fully.
I think that our opening and film is unique to the other thriller films/openings being made as the rest of our film will be unexpected for the viewers. The rest of our film also uses a flashback relating to what the audience will be seeing in the opening.
Hope you enjoy :)

Costume Ideas
Hi everyone, here are the ideas that me and Tammy have for the costumes of our characters. As you can see they are very simpple which is what we wanted to do to portray our chacters as average people. Therefore we think that it will allow the audience want to watch ouir film as it shows how what seems like an average family can turn out to have a dark past.
We also didn't want to pick out a certain stereotypical type of family to show the viewers that they are just 'normal' people...

update on our cast/characters
Hi guys,
we just thought that we should unpdate you on our cast that we will be using in our film.
As you will see in my previous post i showed you the characters and what they looked like, however we are now only using one parent (The Dad) in our film and are removing 'The Mum' from the piece. This is taking place due to convinience for our filming times.
Thank you :)
